There’s no go-slow button on the menu or for ideas at Field and Fork; this week the kitchen is also operating a Pop-Up Restaurant at nearby Tinwood Vineyards; three evenings here in their lovely tasting room from 9 – 11 March at 7.30 pm.  Fancy coming along for Lobster Minestrone, local free range Pork Belly with crispy foie gras and pistachio Olive Oil Cake with matching wines? Or here at the restaurant, the £12 set menu from 12 to 3 pm is a runaway success. The a la carte has local grilled octopus, aioli, chorizo and charred puntrella; a type of chicory. This starter is joined by Aylesford trout and watercress salad, the ingredients delivered to our door from these Hampshire suppliers.

The picture below of this fine spring-like salad is of the Skrei Cod, the seasonal Norwegian fish (Jan-Apr) with white bean puree and mussels.







And who wouldn’t like to tuck in to the dark chocolate torte with honey mousse and whiskey jelly? This could be the lure to push open our welcoming doors.
